Prerequisite: Nursing major, Applied Nutritionmajor, Allied Health major, or course authorization for approved pre-professional program; minimum ACT of 21, minimum SAT of 1060, minimum CLT of 68, or BIO 1014with a C- or better. Human Anatomy and Physiology I is the first course in a two-semester sequence in which anatomy and physiology are studied using a body systems approach, with emphasis on the interrelationships between form and function at the gross and microscopic levels of organization. Anatomy & Physiology I includes: basic anatomical and directional terminology; fundamental concepts and principles of cell biology; histology; the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous system including special senses. This course meets the needs of students in nursing, physical education, and nutrition. It is not intended to fulfill requirements for students majoring in biology or preparing for careers as medical doctors, dentists, or similar health professions requiring higher division a
