Austin Chase Sigler

Personal Bio: Dr. Sigler earned a B.S. in chemistry and human biology from College of the Ozarks (2017), and a Ph.D. in bioanalytical chemistry from Missouri University of Science and Technology (2023). His research focused on biomarker discovery and mass spectrometry method development towards the assessment of disease states such as traumatic brain injury. When not in the lab Dr. Sigler enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, strategy games, and traditional archery.

Description

Prerequisites: Must have had MAT 013with a grade of P orMath ACT score of 22 or greater. In addition, must have had high school chemistry or CHE 1004. This course is designed for a college freshman who plans to major in a field of science. General Chemistry I and II will give the student the necessary fundamental concepts of chemistry for continued studies in the sciences. The course will include a theoretical treatment of the nature of matter and a logical problem-solving approach. There will be emphasis on stoichiometry, atomic theory and bonding. There are three hours of lecture and one three-hour laboratory each week. Fall/Spring
