Personal Biography

Kenneth (Kenny) E. Garrison was a non-typical college student leaving the family farm at age 26 to receive his bachelor's degree at age 30. He has a Midwest education, highlighted with a BA (biology/chemistry major) from Drury University, a Ph.D. in the area of analytical chemistry from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and an NCI post-doctoral fellowship from the University of Kansas-Lawrence. His immediate family includes his wife: Karen, and his three kids: Nathan, Lauren and Parker.

Description

This course introduces the concepts of scientific research, and is the first of three courses in the chemistry research series, Students will choose a research topic, conduct appropriate literature search, discuss methods of data analysis, and write a research proposal outlining methodology needed to complete the project.
