Description

Prerequisite: CSC 303 (All prerequisite courses require a grade of P or C- or better). The fundamental design, implementation and mechanisms of operating systems are covered, with an emphasis on managing system resources through the operating system’s command language. Additional concepts covered may include modern memory, process management, I/O device management, file management, networking, and distributed processing. Students will become familiar with several different operating systems, with a focus on the Linux kernel. Linux labs will be included to assist students in developing a deeper understanding of operating system functions. Fall
