Description

Prerequisite: FAM 323or Child Studies major. This course will introduce the student to the Traumatized Child. The course is designed to help students identify and effectively assess children affected by stress, trauma and/or violence. A major emphasis will be the systemic framework in which the traumatized child lives. Students will obtain an understanding of how trauma affects the child's mental and social development.Students will be introduced to specific interventions utilized in meeting the needs of traumatized children.
