Description

This course explores the dynamic transformations Europe experienced during the late seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, particularly the impact of various secularizing forces. Topics addressed include the reign of Louis XIV, the Glorious Revolution in England, the Scientific Revolution, the Enlightenment and Enlightened Despots, the Seven Years War, and the early stages of the Industrial Revolution.
