Description

This class is an exploration of American history from the 1940s to the present, emphasizing the political, economic and cultural aspects of the period. The course will cover topics such as the Cold War, Elvis Presley and 1950s counterculture, the radicalism of the 1960s, the 1970s as the age of cynicism, the emergent conservatism of the 1980s, and how a culture war developed in the early 2000s.
