Description

Prerequisites: FCC 213 or PSY 253, SPC 103, NSG 254. This course is an introduction to holistic assessment, foundational nursing skills associated with assessment in the care of adult individuals, and therapeutic communication strategies which integrate a Biblical model for communication. Holistic assessment includes physical, spiritual, emotional, and psychosocial aspects of the patient that create a nourishing environment (CNE) for healing. The electronic health record will be the framework for documenting (communicating) the health history and assessment of systems. In this lab course, the
student will use critical thinking skills to observe and analyze data while developing confidence in their practice of professional communication and foundational nursing skills. 45 lab hours. Spring
