Description

Prerequisites:NSG 363andNSG 348with a minimum grade of C (2.0). Based on a Biblical worldview, this course examines the therapeutic use of self by applying critical thinking of the nursing process to pediatric and adult patients experiencing mental illness. Additionally, mental wellness -- encompassing body, mind, and spirit -- is emphasized to enhance the individual's ability to promote, maintain and restore optimal mental health. Clinical experiences in institutional and selected community-based settings allow the student to provide a safe, nourishing environment for healing for both individuals and groups. 67.5 clinical hours.
