Present interests: Spanish cultural studies / Latinos in the United States

Description

Prerequisite: SPA 213 Intensive interpersonal discussion of relevant topics in Spanish, with the goal of developing greater fluency in speaking. Relevant chapters of books and magazine articles in Spanish will be read, vocabulary practiced, and then intensively discussed to facilitate acquisition of fluency. Emphasis will be on practical life-and-job related topics and vocabulary. Students will choose many of the topics. Throughout the semester, we will regularly return to previous discussion topics, to reinforce learning.
