Personal Biography

Kenneth (Kenny) E. Garrison was a non-typical college student leaving the family farm at age 26 to receive his bachelor degree at age 30. He has a Midwest education, highlighted with a BA (biology/chemistry major) from Drury University, a Ph.D. in the area of analytical chemistry from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a NCI post-doctoral fellowship from the University of Kansas-Lawrence. His immediate family includes his wife: Karen, and his three kids: Nathan, Lauren and Parker.

Description

Prerequisite: CHE 334with a C- or better. This course presents advanced topics in analytical chemistry primarily focusing on applications of instrumental methods for chemical analysis. The topics covered include spectroscopic, electrometric, and chromatographic methods of analysis, as well as the types of instruments that are currently available, and the limitations and advantages of these instruments. There are three hours of lecture and one three-hour laboratory each week. Spring-Even
