This course is designed to become acquainted with Chemical Engineering and how it interfaces and interacts with other disciplines.  There are practical applications that could be helpful to know when you enter the work force as an engineer.  There are also practical applications in the lab portion of the course to help you understand some of the systems/equipment that you will find both within the chemical industry and outside of the chemical industry.

The lab portion of the course will also provide learning opportunities for operating selected equipment and developing the protocol for an experiment.  This will be done in a team environment with one team having the primary responsibility for the assigned experiment and having each team in the class perform parts of the overall protocol.  Communication skills will be enhanced, both written and oral.
