Prerequisite: HST 163 or equivalent. A study of the main currents in the history of Great Britain since 1760. Special topics include the impact of American, French, and Industrial Revolutions; religion, democratization, Ireland, empire; and the welfare state, the World Wars, Britain?s role in Europe, socialism, and ?Thatcherism.?
