Prerequisite: HST 163 or equivalent. A study of Germany during the Third Reich and its ruler. Special topics include Adolf Hitler?s personality, life, and mythology; the conditions enabling the Nazi seizure of power; characteristics of Nazi rule; Nazi ideology; German society and culture under Nazi rule; World War II; the Holocaust; and the legacy of the Nazi period.
