Description

Prerequisite: MAT 133,MAT 1335, minimum ACT Math 25, minimum SAT Math 600, or minimum CLT Math 23.(All prerequisite courses require a grade of P or C- or better.) This course is a survey of calculus and will address applications in numerous disciplines including agriculture, biology, and business. Introductory topics include a brief review of functions; techniques of differentiation applied to polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions; optimization; exponential growth and decay, marginal economic functions; elasticity of demand; and elementary techniquesof integration. MAT 173 is not an alternative to MAT 175(Calculus I) and does not satisfy the prerequisite for MAT 205(Calculus II). Offered Occasionally
