This course is designed to encourage students to become sports officials or improve their knowledge of sports.

The focus of the first term will be:

1. To improve your overall understanding of sports including both the written and unwritten rules of the games.

2. To create strategies to deal with conflict and resolve issues rapidly.

3. To improve your judgment in order to create the fairest contest possible.

The second term will offer a concise overview of the sports of Basketball, Football, Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball, and Softball.

Assignments will include writing prompts and quizzes. Class participation and attendance are required. 

Students will be offered information on how to become an official through the Missouri State High School Athletics Association. In addition, students will have access to the MSHSAA official's rules and tests.
